Attendee Bhavika Chavda, who just started an internship as part of a data science degree program, noted that she\u2019d been tasked with building an ML model&#8230;the problem is, she\u2019s never worked with ML specifically and isn\u2019t sure where to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What followed was a broad outlining of the ML experimentation lifecycle. While, of course, every process and stage of the lifecycle couldn\u2019t be covered fully, Harpreet did a nice job of carving out some of the primary stages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Defining the problem and its scope<\/li>\n<li>Creating an initial analysis plan<\/li>\n<li>Exploratory data analysis and dataset preparation<\/li>\n<li>Feature selection (and engineering)<\/li>\n<li>Creating a baseline model<\/li>\n<li>Revisiting data groupings<\/li>\n<li>Experimenting with increasingly complex models<\/li>\n<li>Tuning hyperparameters<\/li>\n<li>Working with more advanced modeling techniques (i.e. ensemble models)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What Harpreet outlined is something near and dear to our hearts here at Comet: <strong>Experiment Management<\/strong>.
